<image:title>About - About me</image:title>
<image:caption>First, let me start off by saying my name is pronounced kay-lee (I know it may not look that way when you read it!). I grew up on the South Shore with two brothers. I have always been passionate about mental health and encouraging everyone to seek counseling. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with friends & family, going to the beach, and binge watching the latest Netflix shows.</image:caption>

<image:title>About - My approach</image:title>
<image:caption>My first goal when starting with a client is building rapport. In order for therapy to be effective, there needs to be a mutual trust between the client and therapist. I primarily use a cognitive behavioral and person centered approach to therapy. Although every session typically includes “talk therapy,” I also try to use a variety of interventions; play, sand tray, art, games, worksheets, etc.</image:caption>

<image:title>Therapy Dog - Benefits of a therapy dog</image:title>
<image:caption>Animals provide a sense of security and emotional support. Dogs offer unconditional acceptance and positive regard. Animals help improve motivation and engagement in therapy. Animals can promote relaxation. Research has demonstrated that petting an animal can help lower blood pressure, heart rate, and increase oxytocin (a feel-good chemical in the brain). Animals can help the client learn frustration tolerance and other anger management techniques. Animals can help in the areas of focus and attention. Animals can be instruments of learning, which can increase self-confidence and self-esteem. Animals offer humor and fun due to their playful nature. Animals in therapy ask for clients to develop empathy, nurturance, and responsibility, and model other skills like forgiveness and patience.</image:caption>
